Popular Bonsai Accessories – Pots & Tables, Stands.
Many people love to show off their new-found additions to the family. I like going with a smaller 6″ pot for a younger tree, but look to move to a 7″ to 8″ rather quickly. (1 or 2 years. It’s is sort of like the aquarium effect for me. Fish only grow as large as their aquarium. I want a rather large, beautiful bonsai to nurture.
I’ll show you my two favorite pots here (PS…If you want to buy either, or review some others – CLICK HERE.)

Juniper Bonsai Tables come in many varieties. Just a word of caution though, make sure your base is stable. There are some types of tables and displays that have a less than desirable base width and topple easily. The LAST thing you want to do is have your beautiful ceramic pot smashed, your bonsai tree broken, and you left with nothing but tears. I highly recommend getting a display table, but I also highly recommend one like the picture below:

Juniper Basics
The juniper bonsai tree will make a fantastic addition to your home and/or garden area. With it’s world reknowned shapes, images of oriental culture will be dancing through your head.
Junipers are quite the hearty variety of the numerous bonsai tree clan. They have demonstrated that in the wild, they can live to be over 250 years old. However, they have a much shorter life expectancy when kept pruned as a bonsai.
Their colors range from silky blue-green, to a light green with silver specks. Among the juniper bonsai tree family, there are also many different varieties. Many are well suited to providing years of wonderful indoor/outdoor entertainment. That being said, they do not like extremes. They grow well in sunshine, but not direct, hot mid-day sun. They also thrive in cold conditions, but not too cold. Try to slowly bring them inside and acclimate them as temperatures reach the 40’s.
You do not want to over water your juniper bonsai tree. This action can lead to root rot and kill your precious beauty. A simple measure to check for moistness is to place a chopstick, or toothpick into the soil. The wood should be slightly damp, but not soaking wet, or dried up.
The juniper bonsai should be re-potted every couple years until it reaches an age of approximately 12 years old. Remember, to have well drained root systems, including stones and pebbles to help your tree thrive. A dose of fertilizer is recommend as well, probably once every month.
In summary, your juniper bonsai tree will take care of you, if you take care of it. It will a center piece of conversation dinners, and will bring smiles to all who observe its beauty. Pruning is required, but not too much. You never want to cut all of its new growth. New growths help it to continue to mature and rejuvenate itself.
